Masala Watermelon Pops

Fresh ripe slices, cut into wedges, and mounted on ice lolly sticks, sprinkled with spices and herbs is a wonderful way to enjoy watermelon in summers. The spices make the watermelon tastes even more exciting and pops are an interesting way to consume them.

Who doesn’t’ love watermelon, I bet everyone loves this juicy summer fruit. So what could be better than to enjoy this fruit, in another fun and interesting way of masala pops?? We definitely make sure to relish watermelon this way at least once throughout the summer.

Ingredients Needed

  • Watermelon: Fresh ripe watermelon cut into wedges.
  • Spices: Chaat masala, salt, black salt, roasted cumin powder.
  • Herbs: Fresh or dried mint leaves
  • Lemon Juice: Juice of one lemon or as per taste.

How to make Masala Watermelon Pops?

Step 1. Mix the spices– In a mixing bowl add all of the spices, salt, and mint leaves. Mix well and add the lemon juice to make a paste.

Step 2: Make the pops- Insert a popsicle stick in the center of each watermelon wedge. Make a cut in the center of the watermelon rind and then pass the stick through it.

Step 3: Rub the spices– Rub the spice mix on each watermelon wedge or use a brush to apply. Serve immediately.

Serving suggestions and Variations

Serve the masala watermelon pops right away, add more lemon juice if desired. For a variation, you can add black peppercorn powder and chilly flakes as well.

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1 small watermelon cut into 1″ thick wedges
  • 2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1 teaspoon black salt
  • 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • salt to taste
  • juice of one lemon
  • few mint leaves chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl add chaat masala, salt, black salt, roasted cumin powder, and mix well. Add in chopped mint leaves and lemon juice and mix again to combine.
  • Now rub this spice mix on watermelon wedges. Make a cut in the centre of watermelon rind using a knife and insert ice lolly stick.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Notes

Adjust the spices as per your taste.
