Sweet lassi

Sweet lassi is one of the popular Indian yogurt-based drinks consumed during summertime. Punjabi’s are famous worldwide for their lip-smacking dishes and cuisine. One of the popular drinks from their kitchen is this sweet, rich, and creamy lassi. Whenever you are on any highway in Punjab you can find hundreds of Dhabas serving this delicious lassi in earthen glasses. You may have also heard of people asking for Lassi Malai Mar Ke , that is when more cream is added in this lassi.

What is the difference between mango and sweet lassi?

Mango lassi is made with the addition of seasonal fresh mangoes like Kesar or Alphonso in the sweet lassi. However sweet lassi is just plain lassi, sometimes added with flavors like cardamom, saffron, or rose.

Can we make it Vegan?

Yes, use any of your favorite plant based milk and yogurt like almond milk, soya milk or coconut yogurt and make it vegan.

Why make Sweet lassi ??

✔No cooking involved

✔Better than the restaurant ones

✔Ready in less than 10 minutes

✔Have tonnes of health benefits and also acts as a probiotic

✔Refreshing and cool

Ingredients needed for Sweet Lassi

  • Yogurt: Any variety of yogurt is fine but I prefer full-fat yogurt for that richness. Try to use fresh plain yogurt.
  • Milk: To adjust the consistency of sweet lassi.
  • Milk Cream: Fresh cream is added in the lassi to add a creamy texture and delicious flavors.
  • Sweetener: I have used jaggery but you can use any sweetener of your choice.

How to make Sweet Lassi?

Lassi is one of the easiest drinks ever. Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. You may add more or less yogurt and milk to make it thick or thin. Adjust the amount of sweetener as per your taste and preferences. If your yogurt is sour, you may need to add more sugar. I would advise using fresh yogurt that is not too sour.
