The dark green color in the spinach leaves contains chlorophyll which may help in improving good vision. Spinach leaves are known to be helpful in supporting energy levels. Nitrates in spinach leaves improve blood flow and pressure by relaxing blood vessels, thus may support heart health. Spinach is also a good source of Vitamin K, Calcium, and Magnesium and may help improve bone health as well.

Apples are a rich source of fiber and water and thus keep you filling and satisfied for longer. The presence of pectin fiber in apples ensures good gut health by feeding the good bacteria in the gut. Being highly nutritious, apples are known to be good for heart health and may lower the risk of Diabetes as well.

The world’s most popular fruit banana contains very important nutrients that may help moderate blood sugar levels. Banana has high levels of antioxidants and the fiber in them may help you keep full for longer times. They also aid in digestive health and may support heart health as well.

Ingredients Needed for 3 Ingredient Energy Booster Smoothie

  • Spinach: For making smoothies, I prefer using small baby spinach leaves as they have a very mild taste and don’t contain strong flavors.
  • Apple: Any fresh red or green apple. I like adding apples with the peel in my smoothies, however, you can peel the apples before using.
  • Banana: Ripe bananas add a nice sweetness and flavor to the smoothie and also adds a creamy texture.

How to make Energy Booster Smoothie?

Wash spinach leaves thoroughly. In a blender add spinach leave and a glass of water. Blend until smooth.

Now add apples and bananas and blend again. Add more water as per your desired thickness. Finally, blend again adding lemon juice and pumpkin seeds. Pour in serving glasses and enjoy.

Serving Suggestions and Variations

I prefer making this green smoothie right when I am about to consume it. It is better to make it fresh. Enjoy this three ingredients energy booster smoothie first thing in the morning followed by your favorite breakfast.

For variations, you can add sunflower seeds or flax seeds in your smoothie. You can also add some more green leafy vegetables like kale, arguala etc.

I would advise making this smoothie only when you are ready to consume it. As the banana and apples may oxidize and change the color and taste of the smoothie.

Lemon juice is quite optional, but it adds a nice tang to the smoothie also helps in preserving the taste if it gets delayed in consumption.

Can we replace spinach with some other leafy greens?

Spinach is one of the superfood leaves. But if you want you can use kale, arugula, microgreens and or collard greens, swiss chard, etc.

Can we add any sweetner?

Banana and apples help in adding some natural sweetness to the smoothie so I personally do not prefer. But if you would like you can add agave nectar, honey, or maple syrup for sweetener.

    Beautiful click Sapana, the green actually pops out. Healthy smoothies are a great way to begin the day or even when one is hungry in between meals. Adding banana and apple makes the raw spinach more palatable especially for kids.
