A vegetable loaded rye bread sandwich smeared with a generous amount of classic hummus. What could be better than this? This hummus sandwich makes a nice and filling meal for tea time.
Hummus and Vegetables Sandwich
Whenever I prepare Hummus, I make sure to save some to make this sandwich the next day. Normally I prefer rye bread or any multigrain bread for this sandwich but you can always use your favourite sandwich bread slices to make it.
Ingredients Needed for the Sandwich
- Hummus: I love using the classic hummus as a spread for this sandwich but you can use any of your favourite variations of hummus like Spinach hummus or Beetroot hummus.
- Sandwich Bread Slices: I like rye bread for this sandwich , you may use any of your preferred bread.
- Vegetables: I have used cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and baby spinach leaves.
- Salt and Pepper: Optional
How to make Hummus Vegggie Sandwich
This is pretty much easy to make sandwich. If you have a batch of hummus ready in your pantry, then all you need to do is assemble the sandwich and enjoy the goodness.
Apply generous amount of hummus on one slice of bread, top with your favourite vegetables, season with salt and pepper. Cover with another slice of bread.Slice and serve.
Serving Suggestions
Serve this amazing sandwich with tea, coffee or mango smoothie. You may also serve it with fruit punch, blueberry smoothie or mango mojito.

Hummus Tea Sandwich
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 cup classic hummus
- 8 sandwich rye bread slices
- 1 medium sized cucumber, cut in slices
- 2 tomato cut in slices
- 1 onion sliced
- 1/2 cup baby spinach leaves
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Instructions
- Take one slice of bread and apply a tablespoon of hummus over it.
- Arrange vegetables, season with salt and pepper and cover it with another bread slice.
- Repeat the same with other slices
- Slice and serve hot with tea.
