Waffles

Waffles are breakfast dishes made with batter cooked on a special plate to give a characterized shape, size, and texture to the dish. The waffle iron can vary the shape and size of waffles. They are particularly the specialty of Belgium but made worldwide for breakfast.

These waffles can be cooked and then served warmed again or can be frozen to use later. Normally eggs are used in the waffle batter to make them fluffy and soft. But this recipe is made without eggs and is perfect for those who don’t eat eggs.

Ingredients Needed for Eggless Waffles

  • Plain flour: Plain flour or all-purpose flour.
  • Butter: Unsalted butter at room temperature.
  • Sour cream: Sour cream or yogurt helps make the fluffiest eggless waffles.
  • Milk: To replace eggs we are using milk.
  • Orange juice and rind: As these waffles are orange-flavored, we are using orange juice and rind. If you want you can use the juice of any of yu favorite fruit instead.
  • Sugar: As per taste.
  • Vanilla extract: For flavors.
  • Baking powder: Leavening agent for the waffles.

How to make Eggless Waffles

In a mixing bowl whisk butter with sugar. Add sour cream and vanilla essence. Add sifted flour and baking powder. Now slowly add milk and orange juice and make a smooth batter.

Whisk well to avoid lumps. Add orange rind and mix gently. Pour the batter into the preheated waffle maker and cook for 3 minutes or as per directions given in it.

Once done remove from waffle maker and cool on wire racks. Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the batter.

Serve with berries compote, jam, orange slices, and whipped cream.
