Traditional South Indian breakfast is Dosa , Idli, Upma etc. There are a numerous variety of Dosa in South India and they done it so perfectly wow ! Can’t imagine how they did ? Whenever I had sambhar rice in my kitchen , next day I always accompanied it with Dosa or Idli.
I am not a master in preparing Dosa but can do a little bit good. So let’s start the recipe . Yum
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup Rice
1/2 cup split black gram /urad dal
1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
A pinch of salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Method:
Wash and soak rice and dal with fenugreek seeds in enough water for overnight or 6-8 hours.
Make a paste in the food processor . Add water if batter seems too thick.
Heat a dosa tava /nonstick griddle . Sprinkle two drops of water and wipe it with kitchen towel.
Pour a laddle full of batter on the tava and spread it with small bowl.
Let it cook from this side for 3-4 minutes.
Flip it on the other side , pour 2-3 drops of oil over it and cook it for 5 minutes.
Serve it hot with sambhar and coconut chutney.
Serve- 4 Cooking time-20 minutes.
Note : For masala dosa , you may stuff this with potato curry.

I'm wondering if this 'Dosa' is chewy… like a Mexican flour tortilla..??..
I'm looking for a gluten-free substitute for flour tortillas and this 'Dosa' looks like it might be chewy and flexible.
