Chocolate Truffles

For this week’s CCChallenge , I made these simple yet delicious chocolate truffles from leftover chocolate cake . The recipe is again from a cookbook with 150 desserts . So let’s start the recipe . Yum

For the cake I used my eggless chocolate cake recipe that I had baked recently to serve with ice cream . Yes ! I did bake the cake just to layer with ice cream . Actually last weekend I was craving to taste chocolate , vanilla and strawberry ice cream with some chocolate cake and mixed dried fruits. It felt so great after fulfilling my crazy craving but I ended up with some leftover chocolate cake that no one wanted to finish , so had to use them in chocolate truffles.

If you don’t want to coconut flavor you may simply dust these balls with cocoa powder or dip them in melted chocolate or sugar icing . Just use your imagination and enjoy!

Ingredients
:
1 cup chocolate cake crumbs
2 tablespoon butter
3 tablespoon icing sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon walnuts chopped
1 tablespoon mixed died fruits , chopped
1/4 cup coconut , shredded

Method:
Whisk butter and icing sugar together till well combined.
Add vanilla essence and cocoa powder and whisk again.
Nw add chocolate cake crumbs , chopped walnuts , and chopped mixed dried fruits. Mix well .
Make small round balls of this mixture by pressing a fistful in hands.
Spread coconut flakes in a plate and roll each ball in coconut and place in an airtight container lined with butter paper.

Repeat the same with remaining cake mixture .

Serve and enjoy !!

Serve-6. Prep time-20 minutes

Note:You may also use chocolate vermicelli and sugar sprinkles for decorating these truffles.

Sending this entry to CCChallenge

Best regards,
