Kulfi Falooda

Kulfi Falooda is a super delicious chilled street food or should I say frozen dessert that is very popular in North India.

Waht is Kulfi Falooda?

Kulfi Falooda is one of my favorite sweet street food back in India. Whenever we would go out in summers, we’d always have a tall glass of this sinful dessert. The rose flavors, rabri, the kesar, and cardamom in the kulfi and the soaked basil seeds altogether make it a totally amazing treat.

Kulfi Falooda is served with alternative layers of basil seeds, Falooda noodles, rose syrup, and kulfi and makes a wholesome and flavorful indulgence.

One of the only main drawbacks of moving outside the country is that we miss all those scrumptious street food and chaats. So whenever I get a chance I try to remake those dishes that we miss the most.

For this recipe, If you don’t want all the time and efforts you can easily find the Falooda noodles, rose syrup and kulfi at the Asian Food Market and all you have to do is just assemble the dish in glasses and viola it is ready to serve.

Basic Ingredients for Kulfi Falooda:

  • First, Kulfi- Homemade or store-bought Kulfi. If you can’t find kulfi you can use vanilla ice cream instead.
  • Falooda noodles- Homemade Falooda noodles are very easy to make but you can also try it with store-bought noodles.
  • Sabja seeds- Adds a nice crunch in the dessert. If you can’t source sabja seeds, you can also use chia seeds.
  • Rose Syrup-Easily available in Asian grocery shops.
  • Rabri- Rabri or Rabdi adds a nice flavor but you can simply skip adding it.
  • Nuts-Pistachios, or any nuts of your choice.

How to make Kulfi Falooda?

Gather all your ingredients and be ready to enjoy. Once you have all ingredients handy all you need to do is assemble it in alternate layers. Serve this luscious dessert chilled.

  3. I can never ever get tired of this drink. Very cooling during summers. Here in Mumbai, during Ramzan Month, we get lovely varieties of kulfi falooda as it cools down the body after a day long fast. I share your love for street food and enjoy a glass of this! Making at home means we both end up living it for the next 3 days which is very dangerous for ppl trying to lose weight. Haha.. gorgeous click and I would so love a tall glass myself
