Tofu Cutlet / Tikkis

Tofu, also called bean curd, is a food made by coagulating soy milk and then pressing the resulting curds into soft white blocks.Tofu is considered to be a perfect substitute for meat. It helps in lowering low density lipoprotein (LDL ) or bad cholesterol hence reduce the risk of heart stroke. This amazing “Poor man’s protein /Tofu can lowers the risk of cancer and is an abundant source of Calcium and Vitamin E. Now I can say that all this info is more then enough to include Tofu in your diet. Let’s get ready for a protein packed breakfast and start the recipe. Yum

Ingredients:
1 cup Tofu , firmness medium
1 onion , chopped
1 capsicum , chopped
1 tomato , chopped
1/4 cup peas
1/4 cup carrots , chopped
2 green chillies , chopped
1/4 cup coriander leaves, chopped
2 sandwich bread slice
1 teaspoon red chilly powder
1 /2 teaspoon cumin seeds powder
1 teaspoon chaat masala
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon peppercorn powder
1 tablespoon corn flour
2 tablespoon oil for shallow frying
Water or milk as required

Method:
Soak bread slice in 1/2 cup water or milk . Squeeze and place in a bowl. Add all remaining ingredients in the bowl .

Make small balls with hand and pat them in between palms to make cutlets.
Heat a non stick Tava or Pan , apply oil on it.
Arrange the cutlets on the hot tava, shallow fry from one side .Flip it to roast the other side till done.

Serve hot with ketchup or place them in burger bun and enjoy.

Serve-8 tikkis. Cooking time-20minutes



Notes: You may use any vegetable you want to add.
