Bikaneri Paratha

For this week’s CCChallenge I made these dal stuffed Bikaneri Paratha from a cookbook . These are really tasty and filling and would be perfect for breakfast or lunch.

This is healthy as well because of the dal stuffing and if you want more healthier option just make it without applying oil . So let’s start the recipe . Yum

Ingredients:
1 cup wheat flour
1/4 cup all purpose flour/maida
A pinch salt
Water as required

For filling

1/4 cup yellow moong dal
1 green Chilli
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon red Chilli powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon amchur powder
3 tablespoon oil

Method:
Wash and soak Moong dal in water for 1 hour. Drain and grind to make a paste.
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan , add cumin seeds , ginger and green chilly.
Now add dal paste , spices and salt and cook till the mixture dries up.
Set it aside to cool.

Take both of flours in a bowl , add salt and knead a dough . Keep it aside covered.
Now make one ball of dough , dust with flour , roll a little bit and place a tablespoon of dal filling . Cover from all sides and roll again.
Heat a pan or Tawa and roast the Paratha from both sides using oil.

Remove from pan and serve hot with any side dish , pickle or curd.Repeat the same with remaining dough and filling.

Enjoy!!
