Rice Paratha | Chawal Paratha

I wanted to make rice Paratha since long and one day I found this recipe in a cookbook and was looking forward to try it.I got the chance to try it for this month’s CCChallenge ,a creation of +Srivalli Jetti ,where we have to cook recipes from cookbooks , magzine or any offline source .My family loved these scrumptious Parathas in our breakfast. Scallions and chana dal gave it an amazing flavorful taste . So if you have leftover rice in your fridge don’t think just make these delicious Parathas.

Ingredients:

For dough
1 cup wheat flour + extra for dusting
Water as required

For filling:
1 cup cooked rice
1/4 cup Chana dal,boiled
1 green Chilli ,chopped
1 scallion , chopped
1 teaspoon ginger,grated
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon garam masala

For shallow frying
1 tablespoon oil

Method:
Knead a fine dough using enough water and set it aside covered with kitchen towel.
Mix all the ingredients for filling and mash it a little with back of spoon or by hand.
Make 4 round balls from dough. Take one ball and dust t with flour , roll it into a round disc. Add a tablespoon of filling in the center and cover it from all sides.
Dust it again in flour and roll into round disc of desired size .Place it on a preheated pan or Tawa. Shallow fry it properly from both side using a little oil.

Serve hot with pickle , butter or as I prefer with tea.

Enjoy!!

Serve-2. Cooking time-20 minutes
