Ram Khichdi

Ram Khichdi-A healthy and tasty rice an moong dal khichdi loaded with vegetables is a perfect and easy one pot meal to enjoy for lunch or dinner.

This ram khichdi is my favorite from Tarla Dalal’s, and I make it often as it is my girl’s favorite too. The main plus point is it takes a few minutes to make it and taste just amazing.

You had to through all the ingredients in the pressure cooker or Instant Pot if you want and bingo it will be ready in a jiffy.

Whenever I make khichdi with vegetables, I make sure to chop them thinly so the picky eaters won’t be able to pick them out of the khichdi. This way, they can have all the veggies without knowing.

But sometimes I wonder how they eat veggies in pasta and pizza but not in the everyday dishes, even my little one doesn’t eat a tiny bit of spiciness, and she would happily eat a bowl of Maggi if provided. Well, I guess it is unpredictable what they would like to eat and how.

I have plenty of one-pot meal recipe ideas to try, do check them out.

  1. Khichdi of any kind is so comforting and easy to make. That’s exactly the trick my mother in law taught me when my kids were growing up..to chop the veggies so finely that it becomes impossible to pick them out.

That is a comforting bowl of khichdi. I know about kids not eating regular food in favor of maggi 🙁 Very frustrating moreover in the summer vacation.

  3. Haha! So true. They can have pizzas without any problem but if it comes to every day dish, they turn picky. This kichdi looks so good and what a perfect filling meal for weekends..

  4. At my home everyone loved khichdi even my toddler too, but I didn’t add veggies in it and that’s a good idea to feed veggies to fussy eaters. This is my type of comfort food. Yours khichdi looks so delicious. Thanks for sharing !!
