cumin seeds

cinnamon stick

bay leave

teaspoon
turmeric powder

teaspoon
red chilli powder

teaspoon
garam masala
salt to taste

coriander leaves,chopped
Instructions
In a pressure cooker add oil, cumin seeds, cloves, bay leave and cinnamon stick. Let the cumin seeds splutter.
Add onions and saute until lightly brown in color. Once browned add chopped vegetables and stir.
Now add salt, turmeric, garam masala and red chilli powder and mix well.
Add the washed and drained rice and dal and 4 cups of hot water. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook for 2-3 whistles.
Let the pressure release naturally. Open the lid and add chopped coriander leaves.
Serve and enjoy.
Notes
Adjust spices as per your taste.
You may add your desired vegetables in the khichdi.
