Yesterday I was preparing Whole Wheat thin crust Pizza (will post the same later ) and as soon as I started to prepare the dough , looking up for ingredients , the pizza sauce it was finished . I quickly made this fresh pizza sauce with tomatoes , garlic and herbs. It’s much tastier than the market one. I just can’t stop myself to share its recipe. It’s simple to make and gives a nice flavor to your taste buds. So let’s start the recipe .yum
Ingredients:
4 medium sized tomatoes , chopped
1 cup tomato purée
1 cup white onion , minced
4 garlic cloves , minced
1 teaspoon oregano leaves , dried
1 teaspoon basil leaves , dried
1 teaspoon red chilly flakes
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoon peppercorn , crushed
Method:
Heat olive oil in a pan , add minced onions and stir in .
Now add garlic , stir for 1 minute.
To this , add oregano and basil leaves and stir till herbs started expanding in size.
Add tomato purée and chopped tomatoes , stir continuously and add red chilly flake .Cook on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes till all tomatoes are tender and form a sauce like consistency.

Season with salt and pepper corn. Cool , give it a blend in blender and store in air tight container. For long life store in refrigerator.
Use this with pizza of your choice.
Serve- about 150 gm of sauce , used for 4 pizzas Cooking time-30 minutes
Note : You may use sun dried tomatoes or ready to use tomato purée.
You can replace the dried herbs with fresh one, in that case add them in the last.

I am in for home made pizza sauce. In fact I seldom buy the ready made ones. The thing about making our sauce means we modify the taste and modify the flavors as per our need. This tempting sauce, with the dried spicy will be a good spread over and why not on top of the crust too.
Thanks for wonderful appreciation Navnee!
