Ingredients needed to make Dates anc Nuts Slices
- First, Dates-I prefers Medjool dates but any variety of dates is fine to use.
- Nuts-Your choice of any nuts, I used almonds, cashew, walnuts, and pistachios.
- Poppy Seeds-Adds a nice crunch.
- Coconut-To give a little bit of texture in the barfi
"These dates barfi would make a healthy grab and go snack for busy days."
How to make this Barfi?
This is one of the easiest barfi ever. You don’t need to spend too much time in the kitchen stirring!
First of all, quickly dry roast your nuts, coconut and poppy seeds one by one to make them fragrant. Slightly soften the dates bt cooking it for 2-3 minutes in ghee or butter.
Now pulse the dry fruits with dates and make a log shape. Coat it with poppy seeds, coconut flakes and keep refrigerated for few hours to set.
Finally, cut the barfi shapes and enjoy.
Can we make it vegan?
Yes, Ofcourse, Simply don’t use the ghee and make them vegan. Ghee helps in softening of the dates. You could use any odorless oil instead.
