Moving forward to next alphabet “I” in the ABC cooking series of Blogging Marathon #32. I was searching recipes and found this wonderful recipe on one of my fellow BM blogger Suma of Veggie platter . After looking at the ingredients I was happy as all were available in my pantry .
Imli or tamarind gives tangy and delicious flavor to any dish . Potatoes with imli , oh ! , it makes you feel live …just with the hearing of name . I prepared this simple yet exotic Imli wale Aloo , a dish of Assam and Maharashtra under Regional Food theme. So let’s start the recipe .yum
Ingredients:
6 potatoes , boiled and cubed
2 to 3 green chillies , slits
4 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds
1 pinch asafoetida
2 tablespoon Tamarind pulp
Spices
1 teaspoon Red Chili powder
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon Garam masala
2 teaspoon Coriander powder
1 teaspoon Chat masala
1/2 teaspoon Dried mint leaves , crushed
2 tablespoon coriander leaves , chopped
Method:
Heat oil in a pan , add aseftida , cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, and carom seeds. Saute for a minute. Add green chillies and stir.
Add tamarind pulp and potatoes , mix well .
Add all spices and salt . Cook on low heat or 7-10 minutes till all spices get coated with potatoes and oil separates from it.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with chapati.

Imli and aloo combination sounds too good, though I don't think I make many dishes with these 2 ingredients. Will definitely have to try this curry.
