Home made Flour Tortillas

Tortilla  is a type of flatbread made of finely ground wheat flour or yellow corn flour . It’s commonly used to make dishes like tacos , burritos enchilada , quesadilla etc. I had prepared home made refined flour tortillas that are quite similar to Indian flat bread (roti) and we enjoyed them as paneer stuffed burritos. So let’s start the recipe . yum

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup water or as required
1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
3 tablespoons olive oil
Method:
In a bowl , combine flour and salt. Stir in water and oil. Mix with hands , it will look like bread crumbs.

Knead a smooth dough adding a little water at a time . Let it rest for 10 minutes.

Divide dough into eight portions. On a flour dusted rolling board or flat counter, roll each portion into a 7-in. circle.

In a large nonstick skillet , cook tortillas over medium heat for 1 minute on each side or until lightly browned. Keep warm.

Layer once cooled in ziplock and store in freezer. Use as required.

Serve – 8 tortillas. Cooking time -15 minutes
