Green Peas Dhokla

Green peas dhokla is a wonderful snack to enjoy in the weekends . I tried this easy and tasty dhokla last week and made it thrice since then . One thing I like most about Dhokla is it can be eaten as breakfast , main course , starter or as a snack , it is such a guilt free dish . The original recipe came from a newspaper cutting and seems to be fit for Cooking from Cook book Challenge .So let’s start the recipe . Yum

Enjoy it as a breakfast or evening snack and relish .

Ingredients:
1 cup green peas
1 cup gram flour /besan
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
1 teaspoon green chilly , finely chopped
2 tablespoon sugar
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon eno fruit salt
1/2 cup water

For tempering
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
2 green chillies, sliced
Few curry leaves
2 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup water

Method:
Microwave peas with 1/4 cup water in a bowl for 2 minutes, blend to make purée and set aside.
Take gram flour , green peas purée, salt, sugar, ginger , green chilli and lemon juice in a bowl .Add 1/2 cup water and mix well with spoon to get a smooth mixture. Keep aside.
Grease a microwave safe bowl with oil and set aside.
Just before placing in MW , add the fruit salt and mix gently.
Pour the batter immediately into a greased bowl and tap it .Micrwave for 2 minutes , check it out and MW again for 1 minute.

For tempering , Heat oil in small pan and add the mustard seeds , green chillies and curry leaves , mix well.
Add sugar and water , bring to boil and pour the tempering over the dhoklas.

Cool slightly and cut into square pieces . Serve with mint chutney.
