Dahi Aloo Chana Chaat

Dahi aloo chana chaat-A mouthwatering chaat made with fried potatoes and chickpeas topped with yogurt, mint and tamarind chutney and pomegranate pearls.

So we are back to one month long Mega BM to Explore the Flavors, for those who are here the first time it means we a bunch of food bloggers are going to post one recipe each day for the month of April. This month Srivalli gave us the choice of either pick one theme and do A to Z recipes with it or do 4 themes in 4 weeks.

As I always lean towards the easiest things I preferably picked 4 different weeks for 4 weeks of April. My first choice is Street food from India and I will be posting six street foods for the next six days.

I have always wanted to make Dahi Aloo Chaat, a variation of Delhi style Aloo chaat since forever but could not ever find time to do it. So when I saw the theme street food I made sure to include this chaat in the list and added some crispy chickpeas for additional crunch and taste.

I made this chaat a few days back for our lunch on weekend and seriously my family went crazy for it. They just keep asking for one more plate after the other.

Normally thin sev is added on the top but I only could make regular Besan Sev at home and used the same. But if you want to try this chaat and have thin Sev available do use and enjoy the crispy chaat.

I also used the homemade chaat masala in this recipe which made a huge difference in the taste. For a guilt-free and healthier version, you can bake the potato cubes instead of deep frying and then you will not stop eating more.

If you love chaats like me and want to explore the taste of street foods do try this lip-smacking Dahi aloo chana chaat and enjoy the best of it. Stay tuned for my next street food recipe tomorrow. Have fun guys and keep eating!

Such a lip smacking way to start the mega BM Sapana! The chaat looks absolutely tempting and no wonder your folks loved it! I have never attempted to make chaat masala at home. And as with all others, home made masalas are the best. Looking forward to the other street foods in this series.
