Bulgur Wheat Kheer

For the second day of Healthy Desserts for Kids I made this delicious and easy Bulgur Wheat Kheer.It  can be served warm or chilled as per your taste.

Bulgur makes a healthy and quick addition to any meal because it’s 100 percent whole wheat that’s specially prepared to decrease cooking time. It’s a good source of fiber, protein, iron and vitamin B-6.So let’s start the recipe.yum

Ingredients:
1/4 cup bulgur wheat
1 1/2 cup low-fat milk
2 tablespoon sugar or as per taste
1 teaspoon cornflour/custard powder dissolved in a tablespoon of milk
a few strands saffron
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
Few almonds and raisins

Method:
Wash and drain bulgur wheat in water.
Combine the bulgur wheat with 1 cup of water in a pan, mix well and cook on a medium flame till the water evaporates, while stirring in between.
Add the milk and corn flour mixture, mix well and cook on a medium flame till the mixture becomes thick.
Now add sugar , saffron , nuts and cardamom powder and mix well.

Cool and keep refrigerated.

Serve chilled garnished with the almonds and raisins.

Serve-4 Cooking time-25 minutes
