Baked Nutella French Toast

For the second day of cooking nutella based recipes I made Baked french toast loaded with lots of luscious nutella.The hint of orange and vanilla makes it more scrumptious.It’s very simple yet delicious desert and can be served to guests as well.So let’s start the recipe.yum

Ingredients:

12-16 Sandwich bread/or 1 loaf of challa
Nutella as required
2 cup milk
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoon orange juice
1 teaspoon orange zest
2 tablespoon custard powder/corn starch
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon icing sugar
Butter for greasing pan

Method:
Preheat the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit .
Grease a square baking tray with butter.Apply nutella on each bread slice and tuck in the baking pan tightly over each other.
In a saucepan add 1 1/2 cup milk and let it warm a little.Add vanilla extract and sugar .Mix well.
Now add corn starch/custard powder dissolved in 1/2 cup of milk and stir for 1-2 minute until the mixture starts thickening a little.
Remove from pan and let it cool.
Pour orange juice and zest over the bread pieces and top it up with custard milk.
Let the bread soak the milk for few minutes.
Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.For getting a little golden crust broil it for 2 minutes in the end.
Sprinkle icing sugar and serve.
