Vazakkai Curry |Raw Banana Curry

We are in the third week of BM#42 and my theme for the week is South Indian Meals. I decided to make dishes from Tamil Thali . The first dish that I cooked in the series is Raw banana curry . I had already posted one recipe of raw banana curry but that is quite different from this one.So let’s start the recipe .yum


Ingredients:
2 Raw banana

To grind
1 tablespoon coconut , dessicated
2 teaspoon urad dal
2 teaspoon fennel seeds
2 dry red chillies
2 cloves
3-4 peppercorn

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon mustard seed
Few curry leaves

Method:
Peel and chop raw banana into small pieces.
Boil water in a vessel and add turmeric powder . Add banana pieces and cook for 5 minutes.
Drain the water and keep aside.
Heat a pan and dry roast all the ingredients under to grind. Cool and make powder in grinder.
Heat oil in a pan , add curry leaves and mustard seeds. Stir for a minutes and add boiled banana pieces. Add the ground masala.
Stir and let it cook for 5-7 minutes on medium to low heat till brown and crispy.

Remove from heat and serve hot.

Serve-2. Cooking time-20 minutes
