Usal Misal Pav is a famous street food of western part of India, especially Maharashtra. It’s a spicy combination where “Usal” refers to the thick curry of Moth bean and “Misal” refers to the combination of spices. It is very tasty and everyone like to eat it occasionally. I wanted to make the pav at home but couldn’t get the time but will surely make them sometime . For the final day of second week if BM#33 , this is my entry under Combo Platter . So let’s start the recipe . Yum

Ingredients:
1 cup Moth Bean /Rava dal, sprouted
1/2 cup Moong Dal, sprouted
2 onion , chopped
3-4 garlic cloves , chopped
4 tomatoes, chopped
3-4 green chillies , chopped
10 curry leaves

Spices & salt
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
2 teaspoon Pav bhaji masala
1 teaspoon Biryani masala
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon red chilly flakes
1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder
Salt to taste
4 tablespoon cooking oil
1/4 cup coriander leaves , chopped
Water as required
Other ingredients:
6 -8 Pav buns
1 cup Nylon sev mixture
1 onion , chopped

Add all spices and salt , mix well and add chopped tomatoes and green chillies. Cook till tomatoes are done and oil comes out from edges.
Pour this tempering over cooked dal , mix and let it cook for 10-12 minutes till all ingredients mixed well. Garnish with chopped coriander.
Assembling:
Slightly roast the buns on Tawa by applying oil or butter.
For each serving , take 2 ladleful of Usal/Misal in a bowl , sprinkle some onions and top up with nylon sev mixture. Squeeze juice of lemon and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with hot pav buns.
enjoy!!
