Tomato Rasam

For the second day of cooking from Pavani’s blog under Special Theme , I have selected this Tomato Rasam which happens to be a secret recipe from her restauranteur friend . I have tasted rasam so many times in Sarvana Bhavan , from my Malayan friends and other South Indian Restaurants but never ever tried it at home . Did I mention never ?? Yes that’s true but how could it be possible not to try such an addictive preparation at home . I must be crazy and thought of South Indian recipes to be tricky and difficult . But after trying this rasam , I understood that SI recipes are not only easy to prepare but unbelievably tasty also. I also made the rasam powder at home and will be posting the recipe very soon.

Rasam is considered to be a South Indian soup , prepared with tamarind , Chilli , pepper , tomato and steamed lentil along with Rasam Powder. It is not only delicious but has enormous health benefits as well . Rasam aids in digestion and lowering cholesterol and also contains lots of Vitamin A and Vitamin C.So let’s start the recipe . Yum
