Rava Upma– The quintessential South Indian style breakfast dish and a very tasty and comforting recipe that can be made with just a few ingredients.

The Rava Upma is one of the popular breakfast of the Southern states of India and is normally made with different variations in different states. Upma is very healthy, rich in fiber and a delicious breakfast dish to start a day with and frankly I can start every day with this humble UPMA.
We love eating Upma with a cup of tea and doesn’t really need anything to pair with. But in South India, Upma is served with various kinds of chutneys. Be it coconut chutney, tomato chutney, or garlic chutney, Upma tastes amazing with any of the South Indian style chutney.

Notes

Try using coarse rava to make the upma taste better.
Don't skip adding ghee in the end for the upma taste more delicious.
