As it was nearly night when the dish was finished so can’t get good clicks as you can see from the pics. But anyways the dish was a super hit and loved by everyone in the family. So let’s start the recipe . Yum
Ingredients
250 gms button mushroom
1 cup fenugreek leaves ,fresh (or 2 tablespoon dried /kasuri methi)
1/2 cup yoghurt
1 onion, chopped
3 tomatoes, chopped
3-4 green chili, chopped
2 teaspoon ginger , grated
4-5 garlic cloves , grated
Whole spices:
1 cinnamom
1 black cardamom
2-3 green cardamom
2-3 cloves
1 bay leaf
Spices
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon red chili powder
4 tablespoon oil
1 1/2 cup water or as required
Method:
Wash and drain mushrooms in water , pat dry with kitchen towel and slice in pieces . Keep aside.
add salt in yoghurt and add the mushrooms to yoghurt, let it marinate for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan add the whole spices , sauté till golden in color.
add ginger , garlic and onions . Stir and cook till golden in color. Now add green chili and fry for a minute.
Now add all spices and salt , mix and add the tomatoes and saute them till oil comes out from edges.
Finally add the marinated mushrooms along with the yoghurt .
Top it up with chopped methi leaves or dry methi leaves and add about 1 cup of water.
Stir and cover the pan and cook till mushrooms are done , cook on low heat and add more water if required .
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot .
Serve-4. Cooking time-45 minutes
