Makki ka Methi Paratha

We are in the last week of BM#50 and my theme for the week is Bookmarked recipes. This recipe is from my mother in law that I wanted to post on blog since long time . So for the first day I made makki ka Methi Paratha .I had already posted the other variations of this Paratha. I like this paratha as the methi leaves when combined with cornmeal gives a very aromatic and delicious flavor.

So let’s start the recipe.yum

Theme-Bookmarked Recipes

Ingredients:
1 cup Cornmeal + more for dusting
2 tablespoon dried fenugreek leaves /or 1/4 cup fresh chopped leaves
1 green chilly,chopped
1 teaspoon Carom seeds
salt to taste
1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
1/4 teaspoon red chilly powder
Water as required
oil or butter for shallow frying

Method:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and knead to make a soft dough.Make 4 round sized balls.
Dust your flatboard with dry cornmeal flour.Place one ball on board and dust again with dry flour over top . Gently press with hand to make a paratha .Make a hole in the center with finger as it will help cooking from all sides.
Slowly transfer the paratha over a pre heated non stick pan ( Transfer it directly from board to pan ,don’t use hand or it will break).
Shallow Fry from both sides by applying oil ,flip carefully with spatula as it will easily break.

Serve hot smeared with butter .

Enjoy!!

Serve-2. Cooking time -25 minutes
