Lauki Raita is very refreshing raita and tastes absolutely amazing when served with any curry and chapati.
Lauki Raita
Lauki raita is a delicious side dish served with main course and when the lauki is in season people often make this raita in the Northern parts of India.
Again just like cucumber raita, because of bottle gourd’s cooling properties, it is considered good to consume in summers.
Ingredients needed to make Lauki Raita:
- First, Lauki-Fresh and juicy bottle gourd or lauki.
- Yogurt-Home-made or store bought plain yogurt.
- Roasted cumin powder
- Salt
- Green chill
- Mint leaves
Health Benefits of Bottle gourd..
Bottle gourd is one of the vegetables that contain high amounts of water, rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and Calcium.
It stabilizes blood sugar levels and maintains blood pressure as well.
How to make lauki raita?
First of all, wash, peel, and grate the bottle gourd. Boil it using a little bit of water. Let it cool and then squeeze all of the excess water.
Now add the boiled lauki in yogurt along with roasted cumin, red chili, green chili, salt, and mint leaves. Mix well and keep refrigerated. Serve with the main course and enjoy it.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve the lauki raita with any of your favorite curry, rice, and paratha or roti.
