Kreppel |German Doughnuts

For the second day of last week of BM#47 ,I made German Kreppel from here .These doughnuts are made from sweet yeast end dough fried in oil without hole.Later these donuts are rolled in sugar or filled with jams.

I wasn’t sure about the result so I halved the recipe .But the doughnuts came out very soft and delicious and everyone at home loved it.

Ingredients:
4 cup plain flour
1 1/2 teaspoon yeast
120 gm butter
2 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 Cup milk
1/2 cup water

Method:
Combine flour , sugar and yeast in a bowl.Melt butter in a pan , add milk in it and mix well.
Pour this butter and milk over flour mixture.Add water ,salt , vanilla , and combine all ingredients until well incorporated.
Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise for 30 minutes.
Knead the dough again on a floured surface.Roll into 1/4 inch thick circle.
Using a juice glass , cut into circles.Arrange on a floured tray or butter paper to avoid sticking.
Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and fry the donuts until golden from both sides.Drain on paper towel and roll in sugar.

Serve warm with coffee.

Enjoy!!

Serve-15 to 20 pieces. Cooking time-25 minutes
