Jeera Arbi /Spicy Colocasia

A simple and delicious preparation with taro roots /Arbi that can make you love this root vegetable. A must try for everyone to serve it in lunch or dinner as a side dish.


This recipe can also be made in Navratri fasting using the rock salt instead of normal one. So let’s start the recipe . Yum

Ingredients:
250 gm Arbi /Taro roots/Colocasia
1 teaspoon ginger , grated
2 green Chilli ,chopped
Few coriander leaves , chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon dry mango powder /amchur
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt to taste
4 tablespoon oil

Method:
Wash and boil Arbi in pressure cooker for 1 whistle.
Peel and cut into round slices.
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, stir and add grated ginger .
Keep the flame low , add coriander powder , red Chilli powder , mango powder , garam masala ,salt and green chillies. Mix well.
Add Arbi slices , mix and cook for 5-7 minutes.
Remove from heat and garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot with chapati.

Serve-4. Cooking time-20 minutes

Note:
This recipe is for fasting as well . You can use turmeric powder if making it generally .
You may add caraway seeds and asefetida for more enhanced flavor.
