Pumpkin pie is a popular dessert pie filled with spiced and pumpkin-based custard which is quite famous in the United States and Canada. This Delicious dessert is mainly eaten during the early winter and generally prepared when the pumpkin is in the season, during the Thanksgiving and Halloween holidays. Normally pumpkin pie is made with eggs but in this recipe, I have made it without eggs.
Eggless Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients Needed to make eggless Pumpkin Pie
- Pumpkin Puree: Homemade or canned pumpkin puree. If making the puree at home, you can simply steam cook the pumpkin or roast it in the oven and blend to make a puree.
- Condensed milk: Sweetened condensed milk to replace the eggs and sugar.
- Pumpkin Spice: A blend of nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, and ground cloves.
- All-purpose flour: To make the pie crust.
- Butter: Cold butter to make shortcrust pastry.
- Salt: For pastry and pie filling.
How to make Eggless Pumpkin Pie?
Step 1. Make the Crust– In a mixing bowl add flour and salt. Add cold butter to the flour and mix. Now add cold water and knead a dough. Cling wrap the dough and let it rest in the refrigerator.
Dust the work surface with flour and roll the dough ball into a circle as per the size of your baking dish. Grease the baking dish with butter and place the pie crust in the pie dish.
Step 2. Make the filling– Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius. In a mixing bowl add condensed milk, pumpkin puree, cornflour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Mix salt and fold the ingredients.
Step 3. Bake the Pie– Fill the pie shell with the prepared custard and bake in a preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is set.
Serving Suggestions
Cool the pie completely before slicing. Once cooled cut into wedges. Serve with whipped cream, ice cream, or custard.

Ingredients
For crust
- 11/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cold butter
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
For filling
- 400 gm can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
Instructions
For crust
- In a mixing bowl add flour and salt. Cut in cold butter and mix with fingers until it looks like bread crumbs. Add cold water one tablespoon at a time until the dough forms into a ball.
- Wrap the dough in cling film and chill for half an hour in the refrigerator.
- Dust the work surface with flour and roll the dough ball into a circle as per the size of your baking dish.
- Grease the baking dish with butter and place the pie crust in the pie dish. Chill it again in the refrigerator while preparing to fill.
For filling
- Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius.
- In a mixing bowl add condensed milk, pumpkin puree, cornflour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Add salt and whisk until combined.
- Spoon the filling in the pie crust and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden and filling is set properly.
- Cool and cut in wedges.
- Serve with whipped cream, ice cream, or custard.
