Eggless Churros

Churros are fried dough pastry , popular in Spain , France , Portugal and Latin America. Churros are typically fried until they become crunchy and then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Churros are often sold by street vendors who will fry them freshly in streets and sell them hot.

For SFC#4 +Preeti Garg suggested churros for the international /fusion theme .We all enjoyed them piping hot dipped in chocolate sauce. So let’s start the recipe . Yum

Ingredients:
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup water
2 1/2 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
oil for frying
1/2 cup white sugar, or to taste
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.
Heat oil for frying in a wok or pan . Pipe strips of dough into hot oil using a piping bag. Fry until golden; drain on paper towels.
Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll drained churros in cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Serve warm with chocolate sauce.
