Dalgona Coffee

Dalgona coffee is the new trending coffee on social media. It’s made with whipped coffee cream and cold milk. If you are a coffee lover, you have gotta try it for once.

What is Dalgona Coffee?

If you are active on social media, instagram or Tik to than you must be familiar with this ever trending dalgona coffee. The trend started from Korea and got insanely popular just in few days. Basically dalgona coffee is chilled coffee made with instant coffee granules whipped with sugar and hot water.

The measurements calls for equal amount of instant coffee, sugar and hot water and all you need to do is whisk them all together either with balloon whisk, hand blender, electric whisk or even a spoon. There you’ll need a bit of patience to get soft peaks in the whipped coffee, it will almost look like whipped cake frosting buttercream.

Basic Ingredients for Dalgona:

The basic ingredients to make Dalgona coffee are listed below.

  • Firstly, Instant coffee-Any brand of instant coffee is fine to use in the recipe,I used Nescafe.
  • Sugar-To get the perfect consistency of the whipped coffee cream sugar is the main ingredient. You can’t replace it.
  • Water-Hot water will bring results sooner than cold water. So if you are in a hurry do use warm water.

How to make Dalgona Coffee?

So by now you must be having the pretty much good idea what you will need to do to make THE Dalgona coffee. Gather your ingredients and get ready to do a lot of whisking. Start with pouring the coffee and sugar in a mixing bowl, now add water in it and mix with spoon.

You are all set to whisk , choose your equipment and start whipping until you reach stiff peaks and the color of the coffee cream becomes lighter. I did mine with hand blender.

Once your coffee is whipped, pour some milk and ice cubes in a tall glass until 3/4 of it’s height. Top it with dalgona coffee cream and serve right away.

I prefered mixing the coffee with milk before digging in , you may enjoy it your own way.

Serving Suggestions and Variations:

Serve the dalgona coffee as it is. You don’t need anything to serve it with. I had some mandarin cake, so I used it pair with the coffee. To make the vegan version you can simply replace the milk with any plant based milk of your choice.
