A very soft and delicious banana bread without oil. This bread tastes just amazing with a cup of coffee and makes a wonderful tea time snack.
Banana Bread with Oil
Banana bread is the popular bread when it comes to baking, it normally needs eggs and butter to bake a nice loaf of banana bread. This recipe is without eggs and butter instead I have used buttermilk and oil to make it nice and fluffy.
I already have whole wheat banana bread and banana bread with Jaggery recipe on the blog, this one is another variation of the humble banana bread.
Basic Ingredients for Banana Bread:
- Firstly, Bananas-I prefer overripe banana with freckle black skin.
- All purpose flour-This recipe is with all purpose flour/maida.
- Sugar-Brown and white sugar both are used in the recipe.
- Oil-I have used sunflower oil as it doesn’t have any odour.
- Baking Powder and Baking Soda-Both are needed.
- Nuts-Almonds, walnut or pecan nuts use your preferred ones.
How to make Banana Bread without Oil?
The bread is super easy to make. Mash the bananas, add all of the wet ingredients along with sugar in it. Sift dry flour, baking soda, and baking powder in it. Whisk and add the nuts of your choice.
Transfer the batter into the prepared baking loaf tin and bake for about 50-60 minutes. Cool the bread completely before slicing. I wasn’t patient enough to wait and cut it while it was warm.
Is this bread Vegan?
No this is not a vegan bread but if you want to make it vegan simply replace the buttermilk with any plant based yogurt.
Storage and Servings:
Store the leftover bread in airtight box in the refrigerator. It stays well at room temperature for about 2 days when the weather is cold.
Serve the banana bread as it is or with a cup of coffee.
