Arbi Dahi Wali (Colocasia in Yoghurt Gravy )

Today’s recipe is a simple yet delicious preparation with colocasia in yoghurt based gravy . Boiled colocasia  are fried and then cooked in spicy tomato masala and yoghurt .

 A juicy preparation with softness and sweetness of colocasia makes it a perfect combination with spices. So let’s start the recipe .yum

Arbi Dahi Wali

Ingredients:
250 g colocasia /Taro roots , boiled
1 onion , chopped
3-4 garlic cloves , chopped
2 teaspoon ginger , grated
2 tomatoes , chopped
3 green chillies , chopped
1 teaspoon carom seeds
Spices
1 teaspoon red Chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
Salt to taste

1 cup yoghurt , blended with 2 cups of water
Vegetable oil for frying
Coriander leaves , to garnish

Method:
Heat oil in a wok and fry the colocasia till golden from both sides. Drain and flatten with palms , set aside.
Remove extra oil from wok , leaving 2-3 tablespoons , add carom seeds , garlic and ginger . Sauté for a minute.
Add chopped onions and saute for 3 minutes , add all spices and salt followed by tomatoes and chillies.Cook till tomatoes are tender and oil comes out from edges.
Add yoghurt liquid and cook till it boils , add fried colocasia and cook again till you get desired consistency.

Remove from heat , add chopped coriander and serve hot.
