For the final day of cooking South Indian Tamil meals , I made potato podimas from Jeyshri’s . This is simple potato curry and can be served a side dish with main course meal. I was running out of curry leaves so didn’t used them . I served this with Poori for our breakfast and everyone loved it . So let’s start the recipe . Yum
Ingredients:
4 potatoes, boiled and mashed
2 green chillies, chopped
1 teaspoon ginger, grated
Few curry leaves ( I didn’t used )
1 teaspoon mustard seed
A pinch asefetida
1 teaspoon urad dal
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon oil
Method:
Heat oil in a pan , add mustard seeds. Urad dal , asefetida and ginger . Stir for 1 minute and add green chillies and curry leaves .
Add turmeric powder , salt and mashed potatoes. Mix well till everything is well combined and cook for 5-7 minutes .
Remove from heat and add lemon juice , mix well .
Serve hot with any side curry , dosa , idli or Poori.
Enjoy!!
