Finally I got my new Internet connection after a week and I am happy to blog again! This is a simple yet classic rice preparation , normally offered with Raita and Chutney in North India. The aroma of garam masala when combined with peas and rice gives it a authentic touch. And one more plus point is , it requires a few ingredients which are available in every other pantry. So let’s start the recipe .yum

Ingredients:
1 cup fresh peas
1 cup onion , thinly sliced
1/4 cup green chillies, chopped
2 cup rice, basmati broken
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon gram masala
1 teaspoon red chilly powder
Salt to taste
4 tablespoon olive oil
4 cup water or as required
Method:
Heat oil in a pressure cooker or pan. Add cumin seeds and onion. Sauté for 1 minute.
Add peas and green chillies and keep stirring on low heat. Add 1 cup of water and stir continuously till it evaporates.

Add salt and garam masala. Now add 1 cup water and stir again.
To this add washed rice and 2 cup water. Add chilly powder from top and cook for 1 whistle if using pressure cooker or till water evaporates and rice are done if using pan.
Serve hot with curd and pickle.

Serve-3. Cooking time-20 minutes
Note: You may add frozen peas instead of fresh ones.
