We are in the last week of BM#33 and I have selected the special theme . +Srivalli Jetti is so kind that she has given us to do special theme fro 4th week if we did three weeks in a row. Special theme for this BM is to cook any dish from the ABC cooking series of previous BM#32 from other member’s blog . Isn’t it fun to cook your favorite recipes from fellow bloggers ? Well I like it very much and tried to cook three recipes from the long list of my bookmarked recipes of ABC Cooking Series. For the first day I prepared Dabeli from Pumpkin Farm .
Dabeli or Kutchi dabeli is a snack food of India, originating in the Kutch region of Gujarat. It is a spicy snack made by mixing boiled potatoes with a dabeli masala, and putting the mixture between pav /burger bun and served with chutneys made from tamarind, date, red chillies, etc. and garnished with pomegranate and peanuts. So let’s start the recipe .Yum

Ingredients:
For dabeli masala
3-4 dry red chilli
2 teaspoon coriander seeds /powder
2-3 sticks cinnamon
3-4 cloves
2 teaspoon cumin seeds
For the filling
1 cup potato , boiled &mashed
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 pinch asafetida
2 teaspoon dabeli masala
2 tablespoon date tamarind chutney
2 tablespoon cooking oil
salt to taste
Other ingredients
10 burger /pav buns
4 teaspoon butter
To serve
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup pomegranate
1/2 cup date tamarind chutney
1/2 cup sev or nylon sev
1/2 cup roasted peanuts
1/2 cup coriander leaves , chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chilly powder
Method:
For the dabeli masala:
Roast all the ingredients in a pan for 2 to 3 minutes. Grind to a form a fine powder in food processor , set aside.
For the filling:
Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds , asafetida, dabeli masala, potato, salt and 1/4 cup of water and mix well. Remove from the heat , add the 2 tablespoon of date tamarind chutney and mix well.
Assembling:
Slice the buns into halves and roast the in a pan or tawa using butter.
Place a portion of the filling on one half of each bun.
Top with the chopped onion, peanuts, coriander, sev, pomegranate ,dates tamarind chutney. Sprinkle salt and chilly powder and sandwich it with the other halves of the buns.
Serve and enjoy.
Serve-5. Cooking time-20 minutes

Perfectly made…love those mixed flavours in this bread, though we have round small buns to serve dabeli and not pav..but well the taste does not matter.
