Millet Vada is a variation of regular vada made with the combination of urad dal and millets. This is a wonderful recipe for lunch or dinner.
Millets are the healthy option when you are trying to go on the low-carb diet and what could be better than to use them in regular meals. Frankly, when I first tried a simple millets khichdi my daughters did not even touch the khichdi.
I knew I had to find another way to use millets in our diet and hence started making dosa, idli and millet vada with them.
These millet vadas are very crispy and taste amazing with sambhar or tomato onion chutney. So last weekend we had a nice South Indian style dinner.

Best regards,
I just love vada. Like if given a choice, I could go for it everyday 😀 But so rarely try to make it at home. I need to change that soon.
what a lovely spread that is, Sapana ! loved the idea of making vada with millets – we make idli and dosa with them, but vada is a definite winner ! thanks for sharing 🙂
Such a healthy vada , makes it less guilty to snack on them
That’s an awesome idea, which millet did you use Sapana?..
Valli, the packet I bought from here says Millets only. I searched on internet and think it was Foxtail Millets.
This looks so good, Sapana. In fact, it doesn’t look any different from the regular vadas made with only urad. Must remember to try this out.
