Homemade pizza from scratch is so damn delicious that you will forget eating out once you tried it at home.
Homemade Pizza from Scratch
We all love pizzas, the cheesy vegetable loaded pizza, who can resisit? What if we could make it at home and even better that the market ones.
Well, this recipe is just perfect to make the pizza from scratch at home. It does sound like an exhaustive process but believe me it’s not that difficult. All the patience and hard work are worth it when you will get to enjoy the cheese bursting pizza with a nice crispy crust.
Knowing the fact it is homemade it will be free from any preservatives or bad stuff. It can surely be enjoyed once or twice in a month.
Ingredients needed to make Homemade Pizza
- First, Flour-All purpose or whole wheat flour
- Yeast-Make sure to use fresh dried yeast, if it’s old it might not work.
- Sugar-For proofing the yeast
- Olive oil
- Salt
- For toppings
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Oregano
- Bell peppers, Onions, Mushrooms, Jalapenos, Olives
How to make Pizza?
First of all make the pizza dough. In a bowl add warm water and sugar and yeast. Let it proof for 2-3 minutes. Now knead the pizza dough with this yeast water along with olive oil, and salt. Make sure to knead the dough for 7-8 minutes to ensure gluten develops.
Let the dough rest for at least 2 hours in a warm place. Once the dough is risen, punch it with your knuckles. Divide into two balls and roll it into pizza shape.
Arrange the topping layers and bake in preheated oven at 220° C for 12-15 minutes or until it is crispy golden from the edges.
Remove from oven, slice and serve right away. To make thin crust pizza, divide the dough into four equal parts intead of two. Roll a slightly thin pizza and bake.
"Making pizza at home from scratch is so theraputic and the results are just outstanding".
Can we freeze the dough or pizza?
Yes, absolutely the pizza dough could be frozen in freezer safe bags. Thaw it properly before making the pizza.
The already made pizza can also be frozen, place them in zip lock bags and store in freezer. Thaw properly and reheat in MW or preheated oven for 2-3 minutes.
