Shahi Kofta / Kela ke Kofte

This one again from my diary….Last time I had cooked it in the year 1997 …or 98 . I was in seventh  or eighth grade.There were some guest at my home …..they tasted and said  we had never tried a dish like it before.
Hmm…I am planning to make it today ..after so long time…

Ingredients:
For koftas:
Raw banana(boiled)-2 in no.
Chopped onion-1 cup
Chopped green chilly-2 tsp
Chopped coriander -2 tsp
Ginger paste-1 tsp
Garam masala-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Gram flour-2 tbsp(or as much to bind the koftas)
Anardana powder-1 tsp(or you can use dried mango powder -1tsp or lemon juice-1 tsp)
Oil- for frying

For curry:
Tomato purée-1 cup
Onion purée-1/2cup
Chilly paste-1 tsp
Ginger paste-1/2 tsp
Chopped coriander leaves- a handkul
Cumin seeds-1 tsp
Coconut powder-2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds-1 tsp
Turmeric powder-1 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp
Red chilly powder-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Water-1 glass
vegetable Oil-2tbsp


Method:
In a bowl mix all the ingredients for kofta ,make  10-12 small round balls by applying water on your palms.Fry the koftas in hot oil and keep aside.
For curry heat oil in a pan and add fenugreek seeds,as they crackle add cumin seeds and add onion paste saute till it becomes golden brown.
Add ginger paste coconut powder and all spices and salt.Now add tomato purée and sauté till oil comes out.Add one glass water and bring it to boil.
Add the koftas made earlier and cook for 5 minutes.
Garnish with chopped coriander and serve with paratha or roti.
Serve -3.    cooking time-40 min
