I had a pack of sesame seeds which needs to be used quickly.Last week when I made falafel with pita for dinner,I also made some fresh home made tahini paste to add some extra punch in it.
This is the simplest and easy recipe that can be stored in refrigerator for months.I bookmarked this recipe from here
Ingredients:
1 cup Sesame seeds
4 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil+extra
Method:
In a pan dry roast the sesame seeds for few minutes.Let them cool.
In a food processor add half of the sesame seeds and 2 tbsp olive oil.Pulse on low speed .
Add the remaining sesame seeds and oil.Pulse again on low speed for 2-3 minutes. Finally pulse on high speed until a smooth paste forms.
You may add more olive oil if needed.
Transfer in an airtight glass jar and store .
Enjoy!!
Serve-1 cup tahini Prep time-20 minutes
