Chocolate Banana Mini Dessert Bites

Adjusting in a new house in a new country and that too for a typical Indian Vegetarian person like me is one hell of a job. Onetime I can’t find desi ghee (have made my own with the butter available here )and the other time struggling to find Indian spices. In fact I took few packets of spices with me for initial days but when they were finished have to look for Indian store. After lots of searching we found this one and only Asian store (in Waterford where we are living )and bought our Indian Dals and spices.

I had this craving for Jaggery from few days and Mr. H brought it for me from somewhere last night . When I dig in for the first bite eww..it was salty . Gosh I am badly craving for our type of Jaggery ,petha mithai and besan ladoo. And with baby on board this seems to be impossible to stop the craving. Someone told us that we can found Indian sweets in Dublin , hopefully we will visit there in coming weekend and I can fulfill my desire.

Well all this story is just to tell that I even can’t find Popsicle sticks while making this summer dessert for the third day of BM#41 under Summer Recipes. Finally went ahead without the sticks but I strongly recommend to use them .So let’s start the recipe . Yum

Ingredients:
200 g Semisweet Chocolate
6 Popsicle Sticks (I didn’t used )
2 Bananas
1/3 cup Salted Peanuts

Method:
Slightly crush peanuts in hand blender and set aside.

Place chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water or double boiler. Stir until melted.

Line a baking sheet with foil or wax paper.
Cut banana into six equal sized pieces.Insert a popsicle stick in one end of each banana piece. Dip banana, one piece at a time in chocolate.

Sprinkle each banana with peanuts, and set on prepared baking sheet.

Refrigerate until chocolate is firm , serve chilled.

Enjoy!!

Serve-3. Prep time -15 minutes

  4. salty jaggery??? I actually have an Indian friend (well Indian American) who lives in Ireland and I think you should definitely be able to find more options in Dublin as he says there are lots of Indians there . Anyway this is a delightful treat and I hope you are enjoying your new country despite the difficulty finding ingredients
