Chia limeade is a super simple and healthy chia drink to make you feel refreshed and hydrated in summer days.

Chia seeds and lime juice together in this limeade make a refreshing, healthy, and tasty summer drink.

The best part is the gel-like substance you get after soaking chia seeds in water has a lot of healthy nutrients too. I literally started adding them in plain water or lemonade, breakfast cereal, granola bars, and even in bread too and my family loves them.

To make it more refreshing and fun you can add some rose water in the limeade and then it will become the popular Iranian Summer Drink Tokham-e-Sharbati.

Using the chia seeds from the past three days. I loved their texture and how they blend in with the dish and made them so delicious.

As I earlier told about the hundreds of health benefits of chia seeds they are actually considered as one of the Novel food by the European Union.

Basic Ingredients for Chia Limeade

  • First, Chia seeds
  • Lime or lemon juice
  • Sugar or honey
  • Water

How to make Chia Limeade?

Soak the chia seeds in enough water for few hours to rise. Now add all ingredients in a pitcher, mix and serve right away.

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • sugar or honey as required
  • 4 cups water
  • 3 tablespoon chia seeds
  • ice cubes as desired

Instructions
 

  • Soak chia seeds in a cup of water and set aside for an hour.
  • In another bowl add lemon juice and sugar or honey whatever sweetener you are using.
  • Stir to combine. Add in the soaked chia seeds and remaining water.
  • Add ice cubes if desired.
  • Pour into serving glasses and enjoy.
  • Enjoy!!
