Mysore Rasam

For the last day of BM#41 , I picked this tangy and delicious mysore rasam from Kalyani’s blog and made it. Mysore rasam is basically made of toor lentil with flavorings of tamarind , tomato and spices and is also served in weddings .

I am not a soup or rasam person but I did enjoyed this tempting rasam with some steamed hot rice and loved it. It’s been a wonderful three days cooking from +Kalyani MomChef  blog and I really enjoyed the every bit of it. Thanks Kalyani for such wonderful recipes , though I haven’t cooked all the recipes I bookmarked from your space but will definitely try them some other time . The clicks are not so good as these were taken at 8:15 pm in the backyard , I will try o update them soon.So let’s start the recipe. Yum

Few curry leaves

Few coriander leaves(I didn’t use )

Method:

Wash and soak dal for 15 minutes and pressure cook with a pinch of turmeric and a teaspoon of oil for 2 whistles adding 3 cups of water.
Sieve dal from water and put the water aside for further use. Mash the dal lightly separately with spoon.
Heat butter in a pan and add mustard seeds and curry leaves .Add chopped tomatoes and cook till mushy and ghee separates from tomatoes.
