In a mixing bowl add gram flour, salt, red chilli, garam masala and carom seeds.
Mix well and add water little by little to make a smooth batter.
Heat a skillet or tawa and brush it with oil.
Pour a ladle full of batter and spread it evenly in circular motion.
Sprinkle onions, tomatoes, green chillies and coriander on it.
Finally, sprinkle some chaat masala and let it cook from one side.
Flip and cook from other side. Make remaining chillas same way.
To serve flip the chilla from tawa directly on the plate.
Serve right away with coriander mint chutney.

Notes
Make sure not to add too much or too less water in the batter. It should be smooth without lumps and free-flowing. I have used the same measuring cup for both flour and water.
For best results make the batter when you are ready to eat.
Adjust the spices as per your taste .
The consistency of batter depends on the quality of the flour.
