moong dal
washed yellow dal

cup
rice
1
tomato,
chopped
1
onion,
chopped
1
teaspoon
cumin seeds
1/2
teaspoon
turmeric powder
salt to taste

tablespoon
ghee,
use oil for vegan option
water as required
Instructions
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and onions. Saute for 2-3 minutes or until onions are brown.
Now add tomatoes, salt, and turmeric powder. Stir and cook until tomatoes are done.
Add washed dal and rice. Stir and add 3 cups of water.
Cook for 2 whistles. Open the lid and serve hot drizzle with more ghee, pickle, and yogurt.
Notes
Use oil instead of ghee for making the vegan option of the khichdi.
