bay leaves

cumin seeds

teaspoon
turmeric powder

teaspoon
coriander powder

red chilli powder

teaspoon
garam masala
salt to taste

Instructions
Wash and soak basmati rice in enough water and set aside for 15 to 20 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan or wok and add bay leaves, cloves, and cumin seeds. Let the cumin splatter.
Now add the ginger, garlic and onion slices. Saute until onions are golden in color.
Add in tomatoes, potatoes, green chili, turmeric, salt, coriander, red chili and garam masala.
Cook until tomatoes are soft and all the spices mixed well with potatoes.
Now add rice and water and cook covered for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove from heat and serve warm.
Notes
Adjust the chillies as per your taste.
