Mathi or mathia are crispy flour snacks made in North India.It is usually distributed among
relatives and friend after marriage,birthdays and any other celebrating moment.One of my favorite tea time snack..I used to made it every month and store in airtight container .
It is effortless to make and perfect for light refreshment with tea.So lets start with recipe .yum
Ingredients:
All purpose flour-200 g
Semolina (suzi)-50 g
Oil-1/2cup
Dried fenugreek leaves-1/2 cup
Carom seed(aijwain)-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil- for frying
Method:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and knead a little hard dough.Keep aside for 10 minutes.
Make small balls and roll to a size of small pancake on flat board,heat oil in a kadahi and deep fry on low flame for some time.
When golden from both sides ,drain on paper towel.Let it cool and store in air tight container.
Enjoy with tea.
Serve- Around 30 pieces. Cooking time-30 minutes
