Besan ladoos are super easy and mouth melting sweet from North India. The main thing is roasting part of besan .Just be cautious not to over done or less done the roasting .It is laborious and hard work ,but you will get the perfect ladoos if you will roast the besan on low medium heat only.
So what are you waiting for , gather your ingredients and start making your own homemade besan ladooos.
2 1/2 cup besan/gram flour/chickpea flour
1 1/2 cup sugar,powdered
1 cup +2 tablespoon ghee/clarified butter
1 teaspoon cardamom powder
1/4 cup almond,powdered
In a heavy bottom wok add sifted besan and 1 cup of ghee .
Stir on low to medium heat for about 20 to 25 minutes or until the color of gram flour starts changing and a roasted aroma has started coming.
Sprinkle a teaspoon of water to make the mixture slightly grainy .
Stir again for 2-3 minutes more and add cardamom powder.Add more ghee if the mixture seems dry.
Remove from heat and let it cool a little.
Now add almond powder and sugar.Mix well until combined.
Make lemon size round balls by pressing the mixture in between palms and set on a tray or big plate.
If the mixture seems hot use a plastic bag to press the ladoos.
Cool and store in air tight conatiner.
Stays well for up to a month.
